Welcome, and thank you for stopping in. My name is Adrienne
Wilder and here at Tsuwa Golden Retrievers (Tsuwa is cherokee
for water dog or mud puppy) we strive to produce a well rounded
golden retriever dog that is functional in the field in the ring and
most importantly the home. We compete in field and in
conformation, and several of our clients are competing in
obedience and agility with golden retrievers they have gotten
with us. While being able to work is important to us our golden
retrievers being successful pets is most important. Litters are
carefully planned with all the desired attributes in mind. We only
breed dogs who have had their hips and elbows x-rayed, eyes
examined by a board certified ophthalmologist, and hearts
listened to by a board certified cardiologist. Pedigrees are
researched for life span and health, and golden retriever puppies
are placed with written guarantees. If we do not have the
golden retriever puppy or dog, you are looking for in a
competition prospect, companion dog, or hunting companion, we
will gladly help you find your next best friend, even if it is not a
golden retriever.

I do not breed for color or size. I try to stick to the written
standard as maintained by the parent club. My puppies
come in various shades and will hopefully mature within the
standard for height. If I do not have what you are looking
for, please feel free to ask for help. Every breeder has his
or her own ideas as what the ideal golden should be and
there might be someone out there that has what you are
looking for. If you realize a golden might not be suitable for
your family or lifestyle and you need help locating a breed
that might work for you, I will do my best to help you out,
so feel free to ask.

One of the most important things you can do as a potential
puppy buyer is to research the breeder that you are wanting
to buy from. The best and most accurate way to do this is
to contact the local clubs to which they belong as well as
any local customers that have been to the facilities and
have seen how the dogs are cared for. The Internet has
made purchasing a dog easier but it has also made it easier
for people to scam potential buyers as well as for competing
breeders to slander and malign competition. Unfortunately
this is the way of the Internet as well as the dog world.
